Is it normal to be obsessed with someone i've never met?

I'm really obsessed with this guy who lives entirely across the country. We've talked off and on for several years now (never met). The thing of it is that we've never made much of a connection (other than sexual) and even that is very limited. He's actually kind of a jerk towards me, and never really says much. I also don't even think he's that good looking. Somehow I think about him almost 24/7. and do a lot of snooping into his life. I wouldn't say that I love him, or have those kinds of feelings towards him, because I don't! It's pretty out of character for me to act this way too >:|

    To me you seem to be attracted to his personality it's just that something that intrests you about him. You like the bad boys and he can just really hold your attention, but nothing is really wrong with that.

    I live in america. And I have these two friends that are brother and sister they live all the way in France. We talk on Msn, Skype, Facebook. Ya know, just chatting. We have became VERY good friends, And we plan on meeting. And to me I think our stories are quite a bit similair I dont think its all that wierd/
