  • I had my own home at 25, and that was when homes could be bought for a modest wage (mid to late 90's). My salary was £10k and i bought a 2 bed terrace for £32k. If you add inflation to that £10k salary it would be the same as earning £17k today, but the same house is now £100k which is 6 times £17k, as opposed to 3.5 Times in the nineties. So you now need to be earning twice as much to get on the ladder, as i needed to. the best advice i can give you is sell everything you can get your hands on and buy Lloyds TSB shares, as they will grow 10 times over the next 5 years.
