I don't think that happiness are connected to being non-muslim or none religious person or having limits in life, happiness are connected to being yourself whoever you are, being comfortable of what you chose to be.
You are now spreading this wrong thought about Muslims not being happy because they don't drink and etc, if you are not happy because of that Islamic lifestyle then simply don't follow it and follow whatever you want. There are people who drink and party, some of them are happy and some of them are not, it's the same case in Islam. I live in a European country and I'm having as much fun as the other non-muslims fellows.
Look, you obviously didn't get my point. I don't even drink or have sex. All I'm saying is that muslims do not have a lot of choices. There is very little room for self-expression. You said it yourself, that happiness is ''connected to being yourself whoever you are, being comfortable of what you chose to be.'' Well islam precisely hinders that. A happy-looking muslim will tell you he is happy because he has been programmed to say just that. And you say ''then simply don't follow it and follow whatever you want''. You think you can simply stop acting a muslim and your whole community will think it's okay? There are very heavy social and financial repercussions to that. Why do you think there are so few ex-muslims coming out?
Also, mainly to the people moaning about me confusing race with religion: Do you think those white muslims have been coerced into accepting islam? Do you think they have an entire social system built around them whose purpose it is to keep their faith in check? Nope, that's why they are an entirely different story.
Besides, do you really think these young muslims in Europe are just different people? That they don't have the same need for individualism, self-expression? It's not like we grow up inside some cultural bubble that is entirely separated from yours. Ofcourse not.
The only muslims that are genuinely happy people are the ones living in Islamic countries. You know why? Because their neighbors are muslim, and their neigbor's neigbors are muslim too.
Is it normal to be jealous of white people as a muslim?
