I get what you're saying. No, wanting to be retarded is a bit too far, because no one will ever take you seriously and see you as a burden.
What you should aim for is being the funny guy (or girl if possible), because funny people are normally well liked and not given as much work or responsibility because you make everyone laugh, and that will become your job mostly. The only downside is that everyone will treat you like a fucking joke machine, only talking to you to get a laugh rather than treat you like a person.
That's completely different. At that point you're just putting on another persona for people. Only those who are blessed with glorious retardation can be fully themselves and it's socially acceptable.
