  • Well you can thank the pharmaceutical and insurance companies for that one. Now you know why I think everyone should be encouraged to eat at least one lemon a day. Lemons have natural cancer killers in them. I know a guy in his 80's who looks like he's in his 60's and still works out like a demon. He's healthy as a horse and never had cancer partially because he eats a spoonful of frozen lemon each meal.

    • I'd guess it's more to do with culture than insurance or Big Pharma.

As for lemons, meh. There are a million and one things you can eat, drink and do that have been claimed to be 'cancer killers', some of which have simultaneously been claimed to be carcinogenic.

I don't really bother taking notice. Better just to focus on a generally healthy lifestyle, and being attuned to your body so that you'll hopefully notice if something's not quite right.

As to that guy in his 80s, there have been men and women over 100 that have claimed the key to longevity is to smoke, drink and have a good time... So... I generally put that kind of thing down to genes and luck :P

      • True! It's not always about luck, though, but a lot of it is. I can't deny that.
