It's a shame, isn't it? I love the ocean, too, but being in it scares the heck out of me. Although, like you said, the sounds and smells of the sea are so relaxing. It could be that because you're so deathly afraid of it that the thrill of said fear calms and satisfies you. Whatever the case, you're normal. Interesting question.
