Well, first off. I think you are in love with the idea of him and not actually him. You can try talking to him. A lot of men are attracted to different things. Me personally need someone who is smart and hold a conversation. Looks become less important, when you're looking for a relationship. Become friends with him. Inflate his ego...some. Giggle at his jokes. TALK TO HIM. In the end though, just be yourself. It's cliche, but it's cliche for a reason.
