Is it normal to be in love with best friend of opposite sex?

I'm a girl, and my best friend is a guy. He and I can talk about anything together and we are the perfect best friends. However, I'm completely in love with him, and he has a fiancée. It kills me to know they're together and I can never have that with him. As far as I know he doesn't have a crush on me and I'm relatively miserable. Is it normal?

He should know, tell him, before you have life long regrets

love is only an emotion, don't get lost in it.

you simply love what is in front of you, doesn't mean he is the one for you, if he has someone and he is serious then it's best you forget it and move on.

It's completely normal for you to be in love with him. It's so easy to fall for someone who you can be compatible with on a friendship level and then feel miserable when you can't know what it's like to be with them on a deeper level. It's up to you if you tell him how you feel or not, but since he is engaged, it probably would be best to just try and move on from him as best you can.
