If you too both like each other and he treats you well then it doesn't really matter what your friends think of his looks. If they had something serious to say about him like they think he's dangerous, or suspect two timing, or anything bad like that then it might be worth noting but if the worst things that they can possibly come up with is he's not attractive or popular then it actually sounds like you hit the jackpot.
