I think that if you two are arguing about some useless stuff then he's probably going through something and it's just a phrase. and you shouldn't let it bother you too much bc you know that you love each other. but if the arguements are more intense and serious then that's definitely something worth having a serious conversation about. hope that some what helps. wishing you the best of luck.
