It's normal. My fiance and I met at a carnival five years before we started dating, and I was instantly in love. I waited those five years to tell them I loved them, and when I did, they said that they had felt the same way about me from the start. We've currently been together more than 6 years, and still going strong.

It's possible, and totally normal.
