No, it's not always on a long-term basis. It can be a day-to-day thing, depending on what kind you have. I have been diagnosed with it and it is a day-to-day thing for me. Sometimes it's even worse than that--recently I've been having a couple of mood swings daily. If what you're saying is true, the two doctors who diagnosed and have been treating me for it misdiagnosed me and I have something else I've never heard of (because I've not heard of any other mental disorder that causes extreme mood swings).
Is it normal to be happy one day and depressed the next?
