Is it normal to be happily alone forever?

Is it possible to live your whole life without finding someone to spend it with and be happy? I'm thinking that I'm heading in that direction right now.

Is It Normal?

  • i dont know if its normal but i find that the older i get, most of my favorite hobbies are solo activities... working out, reading, playing guitar, writing. if it makes you happy, there is nothing wrong with that.

  • When I go home I'd rather alone but I do have a few real good friends and I work customer service jobs which probably explains why I can't stand most people.

  • Normal I guess.I had been unhappy before I was a social failure.

  • You can't answer this until forever is over.

  • I think as long as you're happy that's fine!!

  • I would like to know the same thing, maybe possible but some human interaction is needed. However in the end you will want and need some CLOSE human interaction because the loose friend type just is not good enough long term...for most people.

  • No I don't believe that its normal, however it is possible but if you want to start socializing again you'll have to start from the beginning and re-learn he basics and how to do it.

Anyone can be content in isolation but you'll develop some anti-social personality traits.

  • Yes, normal but it helps to have a few good friends too.

  • It's definately possible I think.. Everyone will tell you that we are social creatures and need others to be happy, but it really just comes down to what makes you happy. If that's what you always want then of course you can do it ;)
