Every time I am alone with another man, even in public, I get nervous. It’s worse if they speak to me or talk to me. I am embarrassed about this and have never mentioned to my husband or anyone else.

Is It Normal?

    Women have loads of reasons to be concerned about men. Lots of us guys are total assholes, and some of us are very good at concealing that.

    So I think it's not an unreasonable feeling. However, if you find that your anxiety about being with men is causing problems in your life, it might be worthwhile to talk to a counsellor about what the root cause of this is, and how you can change your approach.

      Can agree. I dont even conceal the fact that I'm an asshole. My saving quality is that I'm actually a good friend it's just that I'm both a smart ass and a Jack ass sometimes.

    So then you are a gay man afraid to be around men in general. You mentioned being alone with another man. That indicates that you are male too. Otherwise you would have just said you worry about being around men. And if you don't want to mention it to your husband that indicates that you are a married gay male.
    Don't worry about it. What do you think might happen?
