Is it normal to be extremely afraid of bubbles?

  • Are you sure about that? It is my understanding that air bubbles created by gas emerging out of liquid does not need a particle to form a bubble, but they do usually form around existing pockets of air trapped in little grooves inside the glass. On the other hand, liquid condensing from gas does need nuclei like in a rain cloud, unless there is sufficient humidity (about 4x more than with nuclei) in which case it will condense without nuclei, like what you see when you open a can of soda.
