Is it normal to be depressed but confident?

I was diagnosed with depression 15 years ago, but I have never hated myself or thought I was worthless, like a lot of people with depression do. In fact, I am a bit arrogant. However, I still feel numb most days and don't feel like doing anything.

Depression manifests in different ways for different people.

I tend to go up and down. I have my hopeless days where I feel shit about everything, then I have my moments where I get bursts of high confidence out of nowhere. I get extreme moodswings quite a lot though too.

    Yes, it's well-documented.

You are not depressed, you just have depression. It's like an unwanted dinner guest that is obsessed with "protecting" you without ever noticing your consternation.

Like all guests, it shall soon leave and when it does, lock the house.
