Is it normal to be depressed because of a dent

So when I pulled my gaming laptop out one day there was a dent on the corner and when I saw it I was actually depressed for a day and just wanted to lay on the floor in my room since then I still go insane from time to time when I play and see the dent. I try to ignore it trust me I really do but it’s like I need to see it and it’s so weird

Is It Normal?

    • HA HA HA HA, I can actually hear the excited/distraught tone. As if Rodney Dangerfield were saying it.

  • Nothing is quicker to ruin than perfection.

It is normal, we have something really nice and we want to keep it that way. If it has any visible damage beyond minor wear and tear that inevitably occurs, it just doesn't seem the same.

Even if it is dented/scratched when you buy it, knowing it is when we buy it, is still an annoyance. I have a stereo receiver that is awesome but missing one button (not even a real important one) and I knew it was when I bought it but it is still like, "damn, would be nice if it were there".

On the other hand, if we are talking something like my car, which has a couple dents, plenty of faded paint, and some serious rust, I basically don't even give a shit what it looks like.

Any chance you could somehow fix it? Maybe a new cover?

    • Hi sorry for the late reply and the bad description but it’s dented on the corner and a bit outside the casing so if I did put a case it wouldn’t fit

  • Feel u actually
Sometimes I still obsess about little things and stress about them
    It’s quite unhealthy
When my clothes have a hole I can’t look at them anymore until they’re fixed and think back to the moment it happened. Sometimes my stomach hurts because I stress over it so much
There’s is a lot more, but basically try therapy, it helps

  • Of course it made you sad; gaming laptops are stupidly expensive. Companies try to get as much money as possible for them because they know no one is going to just build their own.

  • If it still works perfectly fine, then I don't think there is nothing to be that struck about.
I acknowledge gaming computers are hella expensive, but I think it's better to learn to live with it. You aren't gonna buy a new one because of that, right? So you'll just have to adapt to what you have now
