If I assume as an axiom you are attractive, boys probably try to be endearing to you by giving you compliments. Since beautiful is now scoffed at for not being imaginative enough, the next avenue is to appreciate your "mind". These compliments corroborate with your perception that good grades define your intelligence, and further inflate your ego. But I think there is an insecurity within you, because you truly believe you aren't as capable as your made out to be. And that is why you are compliment fishing on this site
