Is it normal to be completely unable to read the girl you like?

I've been interested in this girl for a little while. However, I never know what she's thinking! I mean, when I text her she usually writes back and such, but only answers questions and doesn't go into depth. Also, she doesn't ask me questions. Whenever I talk to her in school, I always initiate the conversation, and she laughs at my jokes but seems almost like shes looking for a way out and she seems uneasy. But she says she likes talking to me when I asked her, and she seemed enthusiastic when I asked to hang out. Does she like me or what? IIN?

    You know, everyone grows up in a different household and one can imagine that not all of us grow up "cool". Maybe she is in a household that doesn't communicate like you do. Stick with in and just go with the flow. She may not exhibit interest but may surprise you once she really gets to know you. Good luck!

    Has she actually hung out with you? Give it another try. She might not be interested but is just being polite. Good luck. Either way, we've all been there.

    I agree with boredguy. Emotions have a funny way of clouding our actual perception of a situation. If you want to truly read someone, you must establish facts before you draw conclusions. Read her body language as if you were a complete stranger looking at the two of you chat. Body language is 99.999% of communication =).

    I'm like that. I try to avoid people. But once you start cracking our shells, we may open up to you. Just try to win her trust. We try not to get attached to most people, for me its because I think people are trying to get something from me. But if you show her you value her friendship and like her, she may give you a shot.
