I'd say exactly the opposite; it is not normal. However, being in school should be about getting an education, not about crushes, dating and all that other childish crap I read about on here. Therefor, I believe you are probably the smart one and you will probably do well in life.
May I assume you are talking about HS? Remember, the ONLY things you have in common with your peers in HS is age and geographic residency. So why everybody expects them all to be instant friends, befuddles me.
Keep on with the education and as you mature, your social circle will be filled with people with whom you have more in common with than just your age and where your parents reside.
You are welcome to your opinion. I just don't see all the melodrama in hs over popularity and dating as of much real value in life. Learning to communicate with children will help one in life how, unless the plan is to work with children.
I agree with you Eric118, social skills are very important in mostly every aspect of life. I was like him, I never spoke to anyone in high school and now it follows me in adult life too and I am still dealing with this problem. Teens should not become obsessed with social status and dating but I do not think being a recluse is a better path. After education, there is work/career and social skill helps a lot in getting the job you want.
IIN to be completely quiet at school

I disagree, people need to develop good communication skills, which is more valuable than some memorized book knowledge!
