Is it normal to be called a slut by people you don't know?

Last night I was walking home from work and I was waiting to cross the street. As I waited a few guys I didnt know in a van kept looking over at me but I pretended not to notice them.
As the light turned green, they drove past, and one of the guys yelled, "slut!!".
This has happened on a number of occasions from people I do not know.
Do people find it funny to say that to a random person?

    A) you're dressing provocatively,
    B) they were drunk, or
    C) they're stupid and its entertaining to them.

Usually, C applies regardless of A or B.

They have no respect for girls. That scenario has happened plenty of times, but preceding the slut accusation was me ignoring, rather awkwardly, their leering. I wasn't dressed provocatively either, they were just the typical brooklyn dbags.

  • Most likely because you're dressing in a way that seems trashy or slutty to them.

You can't expect to dress a certain way and think nobody will make comments if you look a certain way.

You wouldn't expect nobody to say anything if you seen a transvestite walking down the street in women's clothing and make up.

I myself when in England got shouted "Hiya, Queen" because of the long hair I had. The majority of men had skin heads, and anything different wasn't considered normal. I knew that when I was in the enviroment even before they shouted that. They had a reason, the majority of people didn't dress or have the same style as me, so obviously I was going to be seen different in positive and negative ways.

You obviously must of been wearing something to make them think such things. Does that make it right? No, it is understandable, though.

My advice, don't dress the way you were when they said it to you if you get upset about it.

    Well, that's quite rude!

How were you dressing? A fashion sense can have a lot to do with how people view you.

LOL, it's normal. I usually dress pretty conservatively and I still get cat-called while walking to the grocery store. For some reason, good looking females are a novelty for some men =/

Also, they might have been drunk.

YES!!! Russian President Vladimir Putin texted me the other day. First he asked me if I ate pussy on the first date. When I said yes he texted me back and said OMG you are such a SLUT comrade.

they are immature twats who need to make comments to inflate their big heads (they will be pretty dissappointed to find their teeny pricks didnt grow)

You were walking home from work...if you were in fact dressed provocatively where do you work? lol.

It's normal though. It happens when a female is by herself.

Omgoodness. Those dudes evidently had to pile in one car together because they have no game. Most of them are angry with women that wont give them a chance to fool around because they lost their mojo. They all evidently have nagging, outta shape girlfriends and wives that lost their grip. All men that have the confidence to their masculinity wouldnt be yelling the word slut out of their mouthes. Those bruts can get any woman that desires them....in their nice cars, smell good, enjoy a great date for conversation. So no matter how you dress it truly means you are just wear clothes. They sale aaaallll that shit in the store. So even if you were dressed like a nun those dumb ass weak noodle dick-erectile disfuction local car load of nothing still would have called you a slut. Im just glad it all happened at the same time.

To the people that said it was the way you dressed are plain old blind. A man riding solo dolo would never have yelled slut at you

Sadly that does happen a lot. I once got called a "tasteless little strumpet" on Facebook because I find some famous guy attractive, and I've been called various other things for various reasons. Usually dumb reasons though, people just like to be bullies. Even though I don't know you OP, you don't seem like a slut.

I'm guessing if they didn't knoe you, your attire may have been the issue. Maybe take a second look in the mirror and try to imagine how other people other than yourself would perceive you?
