Is it normal to be attracted to such an older man?

Recently, I found an attractive man on a social networking/dating website. I remember thinking that he was fairly old, but it didn't phase me much. When our conversations switched over to texting, he realized that we have one common friend on Facebook: his (ex) step son.

Well, his step son went to the same high school that I did- he is a year older. His blood daughter is also older than me. And yet, I still talk to him on a regular basis and plan on meeting up with him when I turn 18 in December.. which is presumably going to be a sexual meeting.

Why do I find him so attractive- and the idea of him to be even more desirable? My father and I have a close bond, so no "Daddy issues" here. Also, why does he find me attractive? Shouldn't he be disgusted at the idea of having relations with a girl who is younger than his own daughter? He is 20 years older than me, turning 38 a few days before I turn 18.

    You seriously think it's normal for older guys to like women 18 yr girls (~women in their prime)? of course they do! And older men with younger women is as old as humanity, it's pretty natural. Just make sure to wait until your 18, otherwise that's really not cool for either of you.

    It may be normal for you to fancy a guy older but he's close to being a paedo! It will be a story to tell him mates down the pub for a good laugh at your expense! Wise up - you are being played for a fool.

    im in almost the same situation im 15 and my online found boyfrind is 34 but he has no kids or anything like that but im glad to know that someone else out there has a situation at least a little similar to mine thanks you actually helped me oh and i think its normal :)

    I think it's pretty normal...actually, me and my now husband met through Facebook and he is 20 years older than me. We ended up meeting and then dating for about 2 1/2 years before getting married. I am now 19, and he, obviously, 39. I always find older men sexy, it has a lot to do with experience, for me at least. I don't have any Daddy issues either, but everyone assumed that was the reason, lol. I think it would be a fun experience, even if it doesn't work out in the long run, at least you tried something new right?

    I think it's normal. I've felt attracted to older men before. I've never acted on those feelings. Just be very careful he's not taking advantage of you. If a relationship does form, you will have many people disapproving of you, but the heart wants what it wants. Good Luck.
