Despite the fact that many people believe that a person is "born gay" the truth is less straightforward: "Gay" is a social construct. For example it would be nonsense to say there were gay Romans, but accurate to acknowledge that there were male Romans who had sex with other male Romans though the social context was different. Like most patterns of human behaviour, same sex attraction comes about because of a mixture of nature and nurture and is in any case normal for all mammals, of which we are a species. Homo sapiens is a naked ape, closely related to chimpanzees.
The fact that same sex attraction/sexual activity is an issue for some members of our society is what is curious for me. It clearly has a relationship with religious doctrine, most of which is questionable.
Sexual abuse is another issue and can cause attitudinal and behavioural anomalies. In your case your homosexuality could be a result or have been influenced by your experience but is unlikely to change. What is your problem with that? You do not give your brother's age, so was it what would normally be called abuse or simply play?
