Is it normal to be anti-god?

As a sage (which I say with great selfish pride) I can say I'm not God and I'm not God's son, and I'll keep this extremely brief. God is too limiting, and I'm not sure if exactly all religions are too limiting, but I'm considering after my religious experiment the Cult Of Reason, to worship the Goddess of Reason (mademoiselle Maillard, Therese-Angelique Aubry, and Sophie, who have unparalleled beauty), to worship fraternity, equality and liberty, and to aim at the perfection of mankind by encouraging Liberty and Truth, is any of this normal? This religion-searching is my last resort.

religion compartmentalizes beliefs into easily controlled groups. Humans wrote all religious texts and they've been doctored to maintain control through fear. Seek god outside religion.

I found out that even if it was a rational acceptance of God, e.g. pantheism, it's the fact that it's named God with a capital G that's the problem, God, not gods, limit the human thinking into the delusion that God, though can't be found, is everywhere, is it in Satan? In a Satanist, in Lucifer? No! It's literally too limiting and most of what God stands for involves manmade rules designed to limit all the joy in life more so than its original textbooks, and God is almost nothing but a dictator, this alone is enough to want spiritual illness because spiritual health is pain.

Exactly, the concept of "god" has been turned into some angry vengeful invisible authority figure who people try to please out of fear. "Hey listen, I'm not telling you to work hard nd obey the government, but GOD WILL SEND YOU TO HELL IF YOU DON'T" Now I mean I've had too many psychedelic experiences to not believe that something you could call god exists in some form, but most religious nuts (like jesus freak people who only listen to generic christ-rock types of music and don't socialize outside of church functions) are really only motivated by fear that god will send them to hell if they don't suck him off hard enough. If god really is what they say, and he created all of creation to punish people who didn't worship him enough, then he's a psychopath and I would want nothing to do with an entity like they're describing.

That's right. I know an autistic ass whose alternative to Christianity or any other religion shoved down his throat is the worship of the god Oden, he does that because Christianity makes you too much of a prick for his liking, and mythology, if he carefully picks one, is not judgemental and not based on fear. Although Oden is a vengeful god! However even mythology won't do because it makes a way of life out of dictating, without an individual freedom, more fun though it is, it's even happier to worship evil gods because they don't care what you do. If a religion therefore requires the sacrificing of people to the angry sea gods I'm out! Not because it's killing people but because some prick decided this is the proper way of life.

If you get into these specific mythological gods you have to realize all religions being equally true the way they are presented is impossible. But sacrifices in those religions were motivated by the same reasons, it was the only way to keep the "gods" happy. If you go plant flowers on a someone's grave because you loved them and want to remember them it's completely different from doing it because you're terrified that their vengeful spirit will return and do you harm if you don't. So the motivation is key here. Somewhere it turned into people who run nurseries selling grave blankets to people who believe it's the only way to save themselves from horrible punishment. On the other hand the fact that consciousness exists and can be communicated to other living things says to me that something that could be called "god" exists in some form or another but the true message of any religious texts has been changed to control people.

The fussy religions tend to dictate to the extent that on the one hand you can do something, except on the other hand there are restrictions. The Puritans did that. You couldn't dress the way you wanted unless you had a lot of money. The dressing in Methodism's very fussy and has many many restrictions on what you wear. Oh yeah, it doesn't make restrictions on when you can drink so it simply says not to drink spirits, and Puritanism allows all the fun of drinking so they put restrictions on it, no drinking in pubs for longer than 30 minutes, no continued drinking for longer than an hour (they were allowed to get drunk but they put restrictions on what is the limit), no drinking away from the family, etc etc. I put simple, not complex restrictions on my intake of drugs: all drugs are bad, even medicinal drugs are bad, only alcohol, caffeine and tobacco is OK, tobacco, caffeine and alcohol in moderation, no hangovers, no binge-drinking, two glasses of alcohol, and not a very huge pint, is enough! Don't drink a whole 750mL or larger bottle or any cask of alcohol in one sitting, when driving, have alcohol of less than 0.008, preferably a single shot of alcohol, and that's it, even if I was driving a bicycle. And so forth!

It's not normal to try to subscribe to the Cult of Reason that existed in revolutionary-era France.

    Short version?
If you want to be an athiest, be an athiest.
If you want to be part of a cult, be part of a cult.
If you want to be part of a cult, and be an atheist at the same time good luck finding a secular cult.
    If you want to be part of a defunct-no-longer existing atheistic cult your exact choices are: Be the weird pretentious guy practicing a spiritual faith that literally no-one else in the world practices;
Or, be the weird pretentious guy who re-starts the cult of reason and tries to make a modern secular atheist cult a thing.

Honestly If I were you I'd just become an levayian satanist instead. It's 5 bucks to get a membership card that says I'm an atheist that wants to piss off my parents. So much easier!!

The Goddess of Reason, religion tears lives apart, it takes away all the objects of your happiness, like what happens if you take a toy from a puppy, do you think the puppy is happy? Happiness is daring to scare yourself with being different and persisting. Happiness is money, possessions, pleasure, exquisite happiness and bliss, and getting exactly everything you want all the time, a life to please you. Trust me, everyone else's idea of happiness is a lie, happiness is not going by moderation but a full-on enjoyment. Luxury is the only happiness that's not a lie. Furthermore that's why I'm not religious. What makes me happy is adventure, thinking, and excitement, and money, no religion and no spiritual cult ever gives you a chance and attempting at finding one will be frustrating. I don't obey gods, I don't believe in spiritual rules, because everything said to be good for the soul, people make it up. I only feed my soul with one thing: music, because music like rock and roll being good for the soul has been around forever, no one is making it up, church music thus is good for the soul only when you ask for it, and I have no soul, I do sorcery, that says a lot about my freedom.

I'm not a stooge, I'm not a comedian nor am I subordinate, I'm a sage because I use judgement, insight, discernment, wide experience, great learning, common sense, accumulated learning and knowledge. I know the science of life, one thing is that most things can't be forced, to not do frustrating things, and to force my dignity so far as to get things done (it works), and also to shove everything up someone else's arse and not my own.

But do you know the meaning of life?

        • Hansberger

Yes, the meaning of life is to have liberty, all of the fun, and to have no gods and no religions, instead, be a pagan, even Cult of Reason limits you to things you don't want. Pagan beliefs are the best, they don't control, they don't eliminate luxury and money, but perhaps I'll give that up to be a worldly person, I think I'm inclined to it. I don't want a way of life, I want to do what I want, the spiritual is all about "shoulds", so no more health in the spirit, it's altruistic, it's no fun, or perhaps pagan beliefs are not a bad idea, I don't know. I have 11 rules of life and I'm not wasting them on avoidance of luxury. Perhaps scrying merely tells the future, perhaps hoodoo is a protection agency, none of it is fun, but I feel that living lives of spirit is unhealthy for the mind.

Avoidance of luxury as you put it seems silly but pursuit of materialistic items as a meaning for your life is also a waste of time.

I find the latter necessary, only the very best is good enough (and costly), and I prefer having lots of possessions, and when I pour a glass of wine, that's a carefully selected wine and even the correct wine to complement and even be used as an ingredient for a dish. I swirl the wine, sip it, swish it in my mouth, and then swirl it in my mouth, and sniff the wine to be thorough about its taste and bouquet. Cheeses include perhaps a tomato and basil cream cheese on water crackers, or a smoked cheddar, or perhaps a French deluxe blue cheese. Luxury is good! Even a basil alfredo will be the ideal dish, preferably if it had broccoli and no cream in it, because I have healthy gourmet foods. When I cook for all the other clients where I live, I pick food this way, and I even add wine to a lot of those foods (when alcohol is forbidden), meat is disgusting, I don't even like the overly rich spaghetti bolognese. However, my favorite dish to cook is a vegan fricassee of wild mushrooms in a white wine sauce, bullies just don't get that fancy food is awesome, it rocks, but it's not for cool people like you!

Exactly! And the only spiritual things I need is magick, but not if it's an organized group, and Transcendental Meditation.
