  • Sometimes. Have you ever seen a situation where someone, for example, is playing pool badly and someone else comments that they "play like a girl"? Pool has nothing to do with physical strength or biology. Also, just because a group of people can't do something as well doesn't mean that they're bad at it. Feminine additionally does not equal lesser because all forms of strength are not physical.

I concede, however. Does my point not still stand with that point aside?

    • physical strength, and pool is HITTING a ball, is it not? i also have to argue that men are stronger mentally too. men may not be smarter than women, women may not be smarter than men, but men can take action on their ideas. who took us to the moon?

      • Have you ever played pool? If you have a normal functioning arm you're completely fine, and if anyone ever hits the ball with their full physical strength they're more likely to miss. You spend most of the game tapping the pool balls.

The "stronger mentally" thing is full-on sexism. Men took us to the moon in the 60s. Are you aware of the disadvantages that women faced in the 60s or do I honestly have to give you a history lesson? Both men and women are on equal footing in terms of mental strength. The fact that you even said that in the year 2018 is why feminism needs to exist.

        • why are so many leaders of countries men? men were and are the main fighters of wars, and it takes a lot of mental strength to kill people. etc etc

          • I'm laughing. THAT'S your retort?

Jokes aside, let's look at our current world for an answer to your question. In some areas of the middle east, women can't go outside with skin showing. In certain areas of Africa, female babies are having their clitoris removed because female pleasure is devilish. In the progressive United States of America, many men proclaimed that Hillary Clinton (a seventy year old woman) couldn't possibly be president because of mood swings regarding her period. I'm currently listening to you tell me that men are more mentally capable of putting their ideas into action. This is why so many leaders of countries are men- blatant sexism.

Let's step away from war. Do you know how much mental strength it takes to watch your husband sleep with various women and stand by because you know divorce in your country is illegal? Do you know how much mental strength it takes to watch your parents marry you away at eleven and stay silent for survival? Do you know how much mental strength it takes to be sexually abused and have dozens of people tell you how its your fault because your dress is an inch too short? Do you know how much mental strength it takes to raise a family, to carry keys like claws in your fist while some random guy follows you home? Do you know how much mental strength it takes to march for your right to vote because your husband doesn't even see you as equal? Don't answer. Because you don't. You are a child. I hope you still have time to grow, because this was a disappointing show of why you not only need someone to nurture you, but why you STILL need feminism despite the fact that you don't understand it.

            • 1. are YOU living in these middle eastern countries? i assume not. i agree that these are problems that need to be stopped. you can fight these all you want, im not against that. i would say this is 1st wave within 3rd wave feminism here.
              2. in certain areas of africa???? all over usa, canada, and the WORLD, men are being circumcised!! arent you about "equality"??? fight against mens circumcision.
              3. many men said that, many mainstream media websites have said donald trump isnt fit to be a president because he is a man. he is about ACTUAL equality, not special treatment for women.
              4. men ARE more aggressive, right?? "toxic masculinity" or whatnot? you have to be aggressive to run for positions like president.
              5. Do you know how much mental strength it takes to watch your wife sleep with various men and stand by because you know divorce in your country is biased towards women? lets say you two have a child, right? if you try to divorce, over 86% of the time the woman takes the child. do you know how hard that is?? women manipulate with children.
              6. marrying away is illegal in most countries, basically point 1
              7. Do you know how much mental strength it takes to be sexually abused (i assume you mean raped) and cant say anything about it because you know (police admit this) that even if you know the rapist, if its a woman, you can barely do anything about it (cant explain this well right now, i dont remember the facts exactly)
              8. carrying keys while some guy follows you home?? what?? are you saying EVERY single single mother has a stalker? yeah, some do. some single fathers do too?
              9. 1st wave, its good.
nobody needs feminism. we survived for what, 4550 years of civilization without it?

would rather debate on discord, add me. it'll be easier to chat than here. pngn#5372

              • I do fight for men, specifically when it comes to mental health care. I obviously care for equality and I'm not the one arguing against women being mentally competent.

                1. Feminism does advocate for middle eastern countries, if you pay attention to it. I'm including the struggles of women historically, around the world, and currently. Women have suffered more because in the past they didn't have fucking human rights.
                2. Getting circumcised in a hospital surgically is different than getting circumcised with a rock, hon. I advocate for neither, but I am one feminist with only so much time to dedicate to causes. I focus on men's mental health and positive media influences.
                3. I've never heard someone say that. Even feminists supported Obama to hell and back who was a man, as well as Bernie Sanders. I myself supported the latter in the election. I'm pretty anti-trump and disagree with you. People who support equality don't gloat about grabbing women by the pussy or face sexual assault allegations from NUMEROUS women predating the 2016 election.
                4. Once again, I'm considering historical facts. Most women couldn't even consider a divorce until recently. Once again, following my earlier point, that is an issue men face as a result of the patriarchy. Men, like you, think that all women are superior at parenting and thus its 'irresponsible' to have a single father. I think that's stupid. My own mother abused me due to Schizophrenia and I was stuck with her for years before my father took custody.
                5. Marrying away was not illegal until recently, still isnt illegal in all parts of the world, and things that are illegal still happen. Slavery is illegal in the U.S. but there are an estimated 60,000 in our country (https://www.globalslaveryindex.org/2018/findings/country-studies/united-states/) which is a low-ball number.
                6. I meant sexually abused. I know what you mean, but once again this is a terrible thing men face because of patriarchal values. "You've been raped? Shut up! You're a big strong man! Of course a weak damsel couldn't rape you!" We need to step away from feminine and masculine stereotypes because it hurts everyone.
                8. I'm saying that 75% of women have been followed by a stranger on the street (http://www.stopstreetharassment.org/2010/01/75-percent-of-women-have-been-followed-by-a-stranger/) and I'm saying that 81% of women report being sexually harassed in public spaces (https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2018/02/21/587671849/a-new-survey-finds-eighty-percent-of-women-have-experienced-sexual-harassment). It's the reason my friends and I compare the colors of our pepper spray bottles in university.
                9. Survival is one thing, but I believe that with true equality of the sexes we can finally thrive. Imagine a world where every little girl and little boy in the entire world has access to a good education, equal support, food, clean water, and safety? We don't even have that in the U.S.

I'll add you, but one question; are you actually enjoying this debate or at least learning something to humanize an opposing viewpoint, or will this develop into a hostile interaction?
