Is it normal to be annoyed by sports commentators?

I like watching sports but the commentators ruin it. I mute the sound but then I lose the ambience of the stadium. The noise of the crowd, the sound of the leather hitting the boot and the coaches asides and referees whistles. The commentators fill every silence, I find them annoying. IIN?

    Commentators can be wonderful. I like to watch cricket but whenever possible I turn down the TV sound as their commentators are often rubbish, and turn up the radio when the commentators are much more interesting.

    There is one commentator I like. Norman Chad from the World Series of Poker. Hilarious.
