I think Echo is a nice name. It really stands out. But since that name has given you troubles in school, I can understand why you wouldn't like that name. I think I would be angry with my parents as well...I don't think you should change it though. That name is very unique. But if you decide to go ahead and change it then go ahead; it is your choice.
Oh and having Athena as your middle name is simply awesome.
