Echo - a beautiful mountain nymph, one of Zeus' favorite nymphs. When Zeus would come down to the nymphs, he told Echo to entertain Hera with long and fancy stories. Hera found out and punished Echo, so that she couldnt speak, only repeat others' words. She fell in love with Narcissus but he ran from her and she forever mourns losing him.
Athena - goddess of wisdom and courage. She takes the name Pallas Athena in honor of a childhood friend. Also "Virgin Athena" because she never had a lover, and also as the patron of sexual modesty and mystery. Medusa was her priestess before being turned to a Gorgon. Athena was patron goddess of Athens and a fairly major player in much of Greek mythology.
