The weirder the name of the child, the more narcissistic the parents. In time you'll learn it's a flaw of them, but then again, nobody is perfect and you should just accept them for what they are and not have such high standards as if they had a duty to be flawless people just because of being your parents.
Narcissistic, really? For not wanting your child to be the 20th Jessica in her class? For putting some thought and care into the name of their child rather than just choosing a bland name off a bland list because that's what society tells you to do? For wanting to do something their own way rather than cave in to the peer pressure of everyone else?
If retaining your integrity and holding true to what you believe in a world that tries to beat down anyone who's different is narcissistic, then rub my nipple and call me Martha. >.<
Don't get me wrong, there are people who take it way too far. Like that woman who named her daughter Le-A... Ledasha. Cause the dash don't be silent yo.
But I do think names are important, I put a lot of thought into naming things much less important to me than my children would be. What's wrong with choosing a name you find to be beautiful or meaningful?
Should we make ourselves into lesser versions of what we are to avoid making others feel comfortable? Or should we all, each and every one of us, shine as brightly as we can, that we might inspire others to do the same?
Is it normal To be angry at my parents for naming me this.
