  • I was raised Catholic, went to a Catholic grade-school, Catholic high-school, and I could not get to a public college fast enough. My 12 years of Catholic schooling taught me one very important thing about religion. It is all a bunch of made up crap. People thousands of years ago had no idea what was going on, why were they here? What was their purpose? So they created "God" to give their lives a meaning. We now know that the universe is more than simply the Earth, and that it was not God who placed humans onto this planet, it was fission in stars to create the elements we know, and billions of years of evolution. I now consider science my "religion", because instead of it requiring complete blind faith in the man in the sky and his "son," it gives at least some rational explanations as to what we are and how we are here. 12 years and several hundred thousand dollars in tuition later, I could not be more firm in my stance as an atheist. Please just send your kids to public school.
