Is it normal to be afraid of thunder?

Whenever I hear thunder,I get this wierd feeling of fear inside me, even though I am fully aware thunder is just noise, but I still hide in my basement when a thunderstorm is going on outside. Is it just a phobia?, because I'm old enough to know thunder is harmless.
