Its normal. I went with someone who also was waiting until marriage but was okay with certain alternatives. I would assume that some people wait so that they won't risk getting pregnant at the wrong time and others wait simply because it is what they believe in. If you don't want any sexual activity at all then by all means, follow that. Just as sniff said, lots of people have had sex early and now they are wishing they hadn't. Saying you lost your virginity is well and good but it isn't such a cool saying if your partner didn't come clean about ailments or created a child too early.
As for me, I'm a guy and I've chosen not to do those things. Do I want to? Heck yeah! I'm not going to lie to my hormones. But when I see friends, relatives and old classmates who suddenly have to pick up Enfamil, I don't judge them at all but I don't want to join them just yet. Especially when their partner ended up being a psycho who put someone in jail or who has caused the family to be in danger. Them partner choices, I tell you.
