Ya, I think they do sometimes shit-talk the customers in their own language, but they are still going to be really nice to you, so put it out of your mind. Tell them before hand that you have problems with your feet and ask them to be gentle. The long soak in the hot water softens up your nails remarkably well, so it never hurts when they trim things up.
Remember that anything wrong with your feet, they've seen a lot worse and are not going to be intimidated by it. If the girl who does you feet was gentle and fixed your ingrown toenails, then give her a generous *cash* tip that she can pocket right away.
The worst part of the pedicure is when they buff the bottoms of your feet - it tickles like crazy and it's hard not to laugh. :)
