Is it normal to be afraid i'll always think i'm fat

I used to have an Eating Disorder. I got over it after about two years, but during the time I developed body dismorphia, and deep down I have a fear that what I see in the mirror will never be the real me.

Am I being unreasonable if I'm afraid I'll always deep down think I'm fat?

Is It Normal?

  • It is normal to feel this way because you had a disorder, and you dont want those same feelings to return. You should seek help so this fear does not become a serious problem. See a councelor, therapist, or a psychiatrist and let them know what your fear is so they can help you prevent it from becoming a serious issue.

  • Of course, going through an eating disorder and body dismorphia can really impact how you think about yourself even after recovery, and you may feel that you can't trust your own eyes/brain anymore. But if this has developed to the point where you are paranoid and thinking about it all the time, you should talk to your doctor about seeing a psychiatrist because disorders like this often return, even long after recovery, if there is no professional help sought.
