Is it normal to be able to smell feelings on people?

It's a proven fact that many, many animals can smell fear... notably large dogs and swarms of yellowjackets. From some of my experiences, I think I may be able, to some extent, to smell different emotions on people too, even without common visual or verbal cues. The easiest one to smell is, of course, fear/anxiety. The next easiest one is excitement/arousal, and the other one I can identify with reasonable accuracy is rage/anger. Is this normal, or am I just a crazy-good smeller?

    It sounds like you may have a rare form of synesthesia. It's definitely not a disease, just a really fascinating phenomena that is actually something scientists have been researching for years. Check out wikipedia or google the word synesthesia and I'm sure you'll find lots more information about it.

    As you have found, people's feelings and energy affect how they are perceived, people with unhealthy feelings can smell bad and make you not want to be around them, as can other negative feelings affect them. You are more perceptive than most, but nothing changes really :)

    This might actually be a disease. I can't recall the name of it currently but it when peoples senses are switched. For you smelling things people sense/see. Other people can feel or taste colors. Check with your doctor

    Which one smells best/worst.....i actually saw a documentry on stuff like this one woman claimed to be able to taste music and things other people say..... It is certainly an interesting idea
