The tribes loosely united under the "Democrat" label see themselves more or less as "freedom fighters" where the powers that be (Trump, the police) are evil and bad, and are the source of their oppression/perceived troubles.
By putting themselves in this position and shifting the blame of the problems facing them and their communities (whether it's black, LGBT or so on) upwards, they place themselves in the role of a victim--whether they realize it or not. It's the most dis-empowering thing you could do: it robs you of your personal freedom, responsibility and accountability.
Last I checked, fighting for freedom and equality is the most patriotic, American thing one can do. It’s the very foundation of the country.
It’s amazing how quickly republicans become victims of the big bad “powers that be” when they’re asked to wear a mask or socially distance themselves. Republicans are as “American” as the Nazis were socialists or North Korea is a democracy - in name only, and in fact the antithesis in practice.
Fighting for freedom and equality is very patriotic and very American. I'm sure many on the Left including yourself believe you are rallying and rioting for a righteous cause, for this freedom that has so ruthlessly been denied you.
Congratulations: you're a glorified victim. You either don't see or don't realize that you are putting the government, the police, the whatever "powers that be" on a pedestal that you kneel before daily. Mentally, you're submitting to them every day you blame any problem of yours onto them.
Each day you don't take responsibility for your circumstances is another day you don't try to improve them. The black community, for example, is in shambles from black-on-black violence, single-mother households, and rampant drug and alcohol abuse. It will remain in shambles so long as they point their finger and blame towards some other entity outside themselves.
You just called George Washington a victim. Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton...all victims, according to you. Yet another example of how un-American far right wingers such as yourself are.
And aside from the fact that black-on-black crime is not a thing that exists, and even if it were it’s completely irrelevant to the discussion of systemic racism and police brutality, you really should start educating yourself on what “the left” is holding the government accountable for and what they aren’t. Spoiler alert: it’s more than single mother households or drug and alcohol abuse, which are just as big a problem in rural white communities as anywhere else.
That does raise a good point that, that democrats do far more for lower and middle class white people than republicans will ever do, it’s just a shame that lower and middle class white people care more about blaming minorities for their problems(this is what actual “playing the victim” looks like) so they vote for the party that’s exclusively for straight white rich Christian men, because they’ll harm minorities and that makes them feel better about themselves, despite the fact that they’re getting harmed in the process.
"And aside from the fact that black-on-black crime is not a thing that exists"
What a perspective you have, to believe that black people are so incredibly impotent, so naive, so stupid, so weak, that they aren't even capable of inflicting violence upon their own kind. What a sneaky sort of racism you and so many on the Left have, to believe that blacks are unable to be held accountable and that instead, it must be white men who must bear the responsibility and who must change because, God forbid, black people are powerless to.
You don't understand how racist you are when you dis-empower an entire group of people based on their skin color.
When black people are violent towards other black people, it’s not because they’re black. They can and do “inflict violence upon their own kind” for a myriad of other reasons, many of them rooted in centuries of systemic racism that left them behind the eight ball before they left their mother’s womb, but race is not one of them. White people? Oh they love nothing more than to inflict violence on people who aren’t “their own kind” simply because they aren’t their own kind.
Let me try to put this in terms you might understand, even though I’m sure you’ll still willfully miss the point entirely and respond with another strawman. Imagine if somebody brought up “white-on-white crime” after 9/11. THAT is how stupid the term “black-on-black crime” sounds to anybody who isn’t racist to their core.
Interesting, you honestly think race is a primary motivator in violence? When I talk about "black-on-black" violence, I talk about black people hurting other black people. I don't pretend to be a mind reader or peer into the depths of a criminal's soul to know their innermost motivations. I talk about results.
Here's a simple empathy exercise for you: what would it take for you to hurt someone? Think of the sort of situation you'd have to be in. Things would have to be pretty dire, wouldn't it? Now is a person's race the first thing that comes to mind? Or the 100th, 1000th, or never at all?
What it takes for you to be violent is hardly different than what it takes anyone else (who is not a sociopath) to be violent. Yes, that includes police officers: the only difference is that they routinely place themselves into those situations every day.
Imagine thinking white people--be they police or otherwise--going out and inflicting violence upon black people for the sake of their skin color in any widespread, systematic way. It's a juvenile, very childish simplification that shows how much you don't understand crime, poverty or statistics.
Fun fact: socialists(along with communists and trade unionists) were among the first groups targeted by the Nazis, even before Jews. Saying fascism is a form of socialism is like saying black is a form of white or hot is a form of cold.
Fascists and socialists are on polar opposite ends of the political spectrum and thoroughly incompatible with each other. Far right and far left. You might as well claim that night is actually day because the moon is out at night and the moon is the same as the sun if you’re going to talk in such nonsensical gibberish as what you just wrote.
"Fascists and socialists are on polar opposite ends of the political spectrum" No, capitalists and socialists are. The most extreme version of capitalism is completely unrestricted free trade with no government control whatsoever. That's not fascism. Fascism is centered around government control. A government controlled economy is socialism.
"Republicans" or if you would honestly say, American fans of freedom and individual rights, and distrust of government, often don't want to wear masks.
"Democrats", and lovers and trusters of the government insist on always wearing masks.
The problem is that there are places where there are a large collection of people all ontop of eachother and need to wear masks.
And there are a bunch of places where their closest neighbor is 10 acres away and they literally don't need masks.
When the politicians start fucking with the people that they don't represent; and then when you get a media that is biased one way or the other and that seeks only ratings, and also you have a social media fuled by foreign bots and trolls purely only interested in upsetting American democracy, you get the current shit show.
IIN to be a Trump supporter and not be racist?

It's not very American, either.

The Nazis were socialist, though. They were fascists and fascism is a form of socialism, ipso facto the Nazis were socialist.

No, it isn't. Did the Nazi's want a free economy, or a state controlled one? If it was state controlled, then they were socialists, end of discussion.
