When it comes down to it, humans are tribal animals.
The Republican tribe is "American". Anyone can join it (so long as they go through the legal process) and it's not restricted by race, gender, or sexuality. The bond they share is patriotism for their country, military, football and so on.
The Democrats are a collection of tribes: LGBT, Black, Women and Illegal Immigrants to name a few. Each of these are exclusive, and have nothing in common aside from "being a minority", "feeling like a victim", and hating Trump. It's not a strong foundation for a winning coalition.
Any correlation between "Trump supporters = racists" you have has been placed into your mind by the media. You've been persuaded to think that way.
So democrats are Groups of minorities who view themselves as victims?
I see these groups as individuals looking to challenge the gov't on areas of the constitution that are written to support them as americans but, the processes/laws do not support articles written.
If we're all created equal...?
As americans, why do democrats and republicans see each other as the enemy? We should all be working towards one goal.
Man, when will the aliens invade so we can all be on the same page?
The tribes loosely united under the "Democrat" label see themselves more or less as "freedom fighters" where the powers that be (Trump, the police) are evil and bad, and are the source of their oppression/perceived troubles.
By putting themselves in this position and shifting the blame of the problems facing them and their communities (whether it's black, LGBT or so on) upwards, they place themselves in the role of a victim--whether they realize it or not. It's the most dis-empowering thing you could do: it robs you of your personal freedom, responsibility and accountability.
Last I checked, fighting for freedom and equality is the most patriotic, American thing one can do. It’s the very foundation of the country.
It’s amazing how quickly republicans become victims of the big bad “powers that be” when they’re asked to wear a mask or socially distance themselves. Republicans are as “American” as the Nazis were socialists or North Korea is a democracy - in name only, and in fact the antithesis in practice.
Fighting for freedom and equality is very patriotic and very American. I'm sure many on the Left including yourself believe you are rallying and rioting for a righteous cause, for this freedom that has so ruthlessly been denied you.
Congratulations: you're a glorified victim. You either don't see or don't realize that you are putting the government, the police, the whatever "powers that be" on a pedestal that you kneel before daily. Mentally, you're submitting to them every day you blame any problem of yours onto them.
Each day you don't take responsibility for your circumstances is another day you don't try to improve them. The black community, for example, is in shambles from black-on-black violence, single-mother households, and rampant drug and alcohol abuse. It will remain in shambles so long as they point their finger and blame towards some other entity outside themselves.
You just called George Washington a victim. Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton...all victims, according to you. Yet another example of how un-American far right wingers such as yourself are.
And aside from the fact that black-on-black crime is not a thing that exists, and even if it were it’s completely irrelevant to the discussion of systemic racism and police brutality, you really should start educating yourself on what “the left” is holding the government accountable for and what they aren’t. Spoiler alert: it’s more than single mother households or drug and alcohol abuse, which are just as big a problem in rural white communities as anywhere else.
That does raise a good point that, that democrats do far more for lower and middle class white people than republicans will ever do, it’s just a shame that lower and middle class white people care more about blaming minorities for their problems(this is what actual “playing the victim” looks like) so they vote for the party that’s exclusively for straight white rich Christian men, because they’ll harm minorities and that makes them feel better about themselves, despite the fact that they’re getting harmed in the process.
"And aside from the fact that black-on-black crime is not a thing that exists"
What a perspective you have, to believe that black people are so incredibly impotent, so naive, so stupid, so weak, that they aren't even capable of inflicting violence upon their own kind. What a sneaky sort of racism you and so many on the Left have, to believe that blacks are unable to be held accountable and that instead, it must be white men who must bear the responsibility and who must change because, God forbid, black people are powerless to.
You don't understand how racist you are when you dis-empower an entire group of people based on their skin color.
Fun fact: socialists(along with communists and trade unionists) were among the first groups targeted by the Nazis, even before Jews. Saying fascism is a form of socialism is like saying black is a form of white or hot is a form of cold.
"Republicans" or if you would honestly say, American fans of freedom and individual rights, and distrust of government, often don't want to wear masks.
"Democrats", and lovers and trusters of the government insist on always wearing masks.
The problem is that there are places where there are a large collection of people all ontop of eachother and need to wear masks.
And there are a bunch of places where their closest neighbor is 10 acres away and they literally don't need masks.
When the politicians start fucking with the people that they don't represent; and then when you get a media that is biased one way or the other and that seeks only ratings, and also you have a social media fuled by foreign bots and trolls purely only interested in upsetting American democracy, you get the current shit show.
Well it's not as simple as good vs bad, though the Democrats see republicans as evil devils Republicans see democrats as being so naive it's dangerous.
The truth is that it's good vs good. Each side thinks they are the good guys it's just about the tactics they use to get to said goal.
Republicans get to that goal by trying to stay relatively stable tradition wise, which is a good strategy since if it worked in the past it's at least a good foundation for what to do in the future. They acomplish this by putting as many judges that share their sentiment into office as physically (and legally) as possible.
Democrats are the party of "change" change isnt the opposite of tradition though. Change is just trying to make an system better through reform. The defunding of the police montra is a very flawed idea since they have provided zero fallback plans nor actually having ideas for change, its reactionary. Democrats if they wanted change would go at the problem by using facts not emotion to drive their arguments (odd I though the dems were the party of logic and science like 10 years ago).
As a libertarian (not the traitors ho joined the blm movement as a power grab) I respect both the republican and democratic side. It's just that in recent years the republicans have been more in line with moderate opinion rather than going so far to their side they are barely recognizable by their colors.
Republicans seem to actively want to debate more so than democrats which work upon canceling other peoples speech rather than making a cohesive point. Either way make your own perspective on who's right and who's wrong.
Right wingers are overwhelmingly more responsible for policies which have harmed vulnerable people such as sick and disabled people. In my country they have repeatedly put welfare for people like that on the chopping block. Also "cancel culture" is a fad. The big fear monger is about people losing their jobs, yet they don't make the connection that the real issue there is poverty and the fact that not having a job can potentially be something so disastrous. They have taken away a lot of easy access jobs for people who are unlikely to get employment here.
I mean not to be a dick but people who are in wheelchairs definitely cant do some jobs out here. Mechanization has taken away ghe simple jobs for mentally disabled to forge a career out of so they have some semblance of a purpose.
All of which should be the burden of the people rather than the goverment. People who are truely disabled through no fault of their own are fine in our books they should get money for being alive while trying to help the community. Everyone else can at least hope and try to have their children (if they have them anyway) live better lives than them. Sometimes the american dream takes more than one lifetime.
If right wing means capitalists, no. People living in free market countries wholeheartedly throughout the history of the world have faired much better than people living under socialism or communism.
Right wing doesnt necessarily mean capitalist but the left sure ain't preaching for capitalism these days. If they aren't preaching capitalism who is? Oh yeah the patriotic right who doesnt want to change shit without due cause.
"anyone can join, but the tribe of blacks and women have to be democrats" "nooo we aren't racist or sexist that's all mind control by someone else" You gotta be trolling.
That's the thing: anyone can be American. Only women can be women, and only blacks can be black. Republicans overwhelmingly identify as American first, their race and gender second.
Democrats are the other way around. It didn't always used to be this way, but once Democrats ceded "being American" over to the Republicans, they lost any chance of winning an election.
These generalizations aren't as accurate as you're lead to believe by your fellow social media addicts. Intelligent adults do not identify with nationality, political affiliation, race, or sex before their own personal values.
In reality, being a 'trump supporter' has little to do with being a republican - any rational person should be able to see through the bullshit by this point, but it's difficult when you've built your whole identity around supporting him.
Definitions change over time. 'Liberal' hardly means now what it did 30 or 40 years ago. To be a Republican is almost synonymous with being a Trump supporter today, as never Trumpers/neo-cons slowly died out and the populist movement took its place.
Intelligence has no role in what one identifies as. There are some absolutely brilliant, 140+ IQ professors out there tossing molotov cocktails over at police as members of Antifa. Intelligence does not mean you're suddenly a fully rational human being.
Humans aren't rational: we use reasoning to justify our feelings. The sooner you understand that, the better you're able to identify sources trying to persuade you.
I always get confused, as a centrist, moderate. I despise both the parties. I love freedom of speech with no bariers, i respect the right to bear arms to dedend it. I dont love private prisons and private military, but we need the latter to stop China amd Russia from ruining good western values.
IIN to be a Trump supporter and not be racist?

The Nazis were socialist, though. They were fascists and fascism is a form of socialism, ipso facto the Nazis were socialist.

No, it isn't. Did the Nazi's want a free economy, or a state controlled one? If it was state controlled, then they were socialists, end of discussion.
