Is it normal to be a hypocrite about cutting?

Ok so check this story out, ive been talking to a girl for awhile now and we are becoming great friends. Eventually i can see us getting together cause she likes me and i like her, but today i saw her arm and it had cuts all over it. I havnt told her how i felt about ti yet but the thing is ive cut myself once before. Honestly yeah ive done it and idk if im gonna do it again but i really dont want to see that on her, i dont want her to be hurt. So Is That Normal or am i just a Hypocrite? And if you try commenting on saying Dont cut yourself....stfu and gtfo. Thanks :)

  • Nah, that's not hypocrisy. You just care. It'd be hypocritical if you told her it was wrong (but did it yourself and thought it was right). It's not hypocritical because you're not making a judgement you secretly disbelieve.

  • You're not being a hypocrite for wishing her well, just like parents always say "do as I say, not as I do" they don't want them to make their mistakes, etc. Not exactly the same thing, but... anyway! She's obviously got some serious things going on, and she's hurting herself which is bad, and if you didn't care about that, that wouldn't be normal. Well, it wouldn't be good.

  • Just tell her not to. Tell her that you've done it yourself so you know how she feels, and then she'll probably be more likely to stop. It isn't hypocritical at all, but she might see it that way unless you are very careful.

  • Yes, it's hypocritical. She's not worth dating and neither are you, though, so it doesn't matter either way.

It's really idiotic and pathetic to cut yourself.
