  • Hey! I'm gay and trans. It is not very normal to want to be a gay man, but it's perfectly fine to want to be a gay man!

  • Hey, gay trans man here. It’s normal for me. There’s tons of us out there, just look up ftm on YouTube. You aren’t alone.

  • No I guess it’s not really normal but in between normal and abnormal. But in my opinion it alright. If you want to be a transgender gay man then you can be one, if you don’t then that’s okay as well but always be good to yourself and to others

  • I don't know why, but I have literally the same exact thoughts

  • It's normal, but becoming a man (if you live in a western society) means losing a few privileges you may or may not realize you have. There has been no scientific proof of reincarnation or "past lives", so if you are sure about your decision, go for it.

  • Honestly, being trans isn't as hard as people put it out to be. Yes it might seem annoying to have to go through months of testosterone, but it is quite cheap. My brother has been falling through on changing from female to male and it has worked well for him. If you can't be bothered to do the switch but still want to be a gay man, that is completely fine and normal imo.

  • i have a friend who changed their gender and said it was the best thing they had done

  • I am also a female and I personally like guys who are a bit more feminine then me. I'm not really the most girly-girl. I think it just matters on your preferences.
But you want to transition so you can date gay men? It's a bit confusing but I understand where you are coming from :)

    • esentially . i know its confusing lol , i just wanted some insight . thanks !

  • Today's logic:

Something that occurs in 1-3 times in a thousand is normal/common.

I'm not against people wanting to be something else and such, but pretending something is very normal just to avoid making someone feel upset is not helping anyone.

  • Try accepting yourself for who you are.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • yes its normal

  • It is normal! But it isn't good. You are not transgender, and being too lazy to be a male shows it. You should stay off of tumblr, and look into Transtrender rants for the opposite side of the argument. It makes fun of people with actual gender dysphoria. If you do not want to transition, but often feel being a male would be better, that is fine, but just don't call yourself transgender or use male pronouns if you are "too lazy" for it.

    • oh , i certaintly wouldnt call myself a male , i would never demean trans people like that . i know that i am not transgender , and i would never call myself that .

      Comment Hidden ( show )
  • People have wanted to do/ be crazier things than just the opposite gender. You do you just make sure that it's something you really want before making any big choices and research usually helps too.

  • lmao yeah ,, that does make sense ig . thank you for the input .

  • It is abnormal to be a gay men. We all are different and I do not have nothing wrong to lesbians I even like them. But I dont like gays and truly I cant even think about it. Why men should love other men? In mu opinion it is ugly and abnormal. Lets discuss.

    • well in nature there are many instances of males taking part is sexual intercourse . now even though you support lesbiansn, you dont support gays ? i am just curious as to why you support one thing and not the other equvalient .

      • Becouse I like girls and lesbians looks normal and sweet but gays damage mens side. As I said we all are different but I will never accept gays and a lot of people will not too.

  • Tbh I've been seeing this a lot in the anime fan community where a lot of girls will decide to call themselves trans just because they want to date guys because two guys are hot. I'm a trans man but I'm of the belief of if you dont have dysphoria you arent trans, but that's just me.

  • my girlfriend said she also wanted to be a man but also be with me, but mostly because of the advantages (being stronger, no periods...) still she wasnt obsessed with that and we used to talk about it and have some laughs after so... if thats the case i guess its normal

    • hahah yeah , thats understandable lol . thank you for the advice .

  • So to get a common starting point here, sex and gender is not the same thing.
You cannot become the opposite sex, you can give yourself a different gender though.
The first is biological, except you can switch chromosomes at will and switch organs around, it is impossible to change your biological sex.
Gender is more of a social construct, you can identify as whatever you want. But keep in mind that nobody is forced to agree with you on how you see yourself.
Some people really don't like to hear that, but it's important to be aware of that, or reality will hit hard.

    Now, is it normal?
Well, depends. To a degree yes, many people think of how it would be to be born as the opposite sex. It's a human trait. Seeking to satisfy our curiosity.
In some people more than others, and there is really no difference when it comes to sex there.
Females and males alike, we are not different species, we are more similar than some like to admit, we all start out as females in early development. It's only when the Y chromosome starts kicking in that we slightly part ways. Well, still the same way, just a different side of the road.

The desire to escape from what you are physically bound to,
indicates your mind is not coping well with very fundamental "rules" of nature, or the way society evolved around them.
And actually, it's good to question those things. Asking "why", is extremely important.
Just make sure you know the reason for why you have that desire and a solution might come to mind. Or at least a satisfactory state of mind.

And remember, we've all been girls once in our live, even if we can't remember it.

    • thank you so much for all the advice !! :,) it really helps lol

  • Gender is a spectrum and you don’t have to identify as something you don’t want to. You don’t even need to have any gender in particular! Just be whoever you want to be :)

  • I used to be like that, for some it can be a faze, but it's perfectly fine

        • understandable , and im perfectly fine with that lol . just dont use the term autism so lightly ?? i dont have autism ( i dont think i have been mentally health checked in a few years though haha ) but that could possibly offend people that do . especially if you have no concrete evidence is autistic . im fine with you disagreeing with my beliefs , but dont world it that way ig ??

            -
          • Uhuh. Well, I think being or desiring to be the opposite sex is autistic behavior, and I take the risk (and enjoy it) to offend in these comments other people due to their reactionary behavior.

            Comment Hidden ( show )
              -
            • even then , thats only one symptom of autism . like say a kid was socially inabled , would you just call them autistic ?? i mean i would hope not lol , there are many things that make up autism . anyways , im chill with your opinon , but its usually nice to have fact to back it up and not just leave if to beliefs . lmao i bet youre laughing your ass off atm , also understandable .

  • Gender Dysphoria is a mental disorder

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • This is definitely not normal but it is definitely not a bad thing either. You do whatever you want to do. Even though people will look down on it (and I personally don't agree with it either), you can do whatever you want. Since we have the technology, nothing is stopping you.

  • i mean, us females have a terrible life currently!! rampant misogyny sucks. it's definitely normal to want to escape that.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
      -
    • yeah ig lol but generally trans males or females have it worse then even us so -- like misogyny n sexism isnt cool but like ?? im imagining youre typing that from a first world country so somewhere else both males and females have it worse . not saying us women are treating properly lol

      Comment Hidden ( show )
        -
      • i genuinely don't think we can say who has it worse. whether it's literally because it's so complicated, or just because we shouldn't play pain Olympics. but I get your point.

although, question on that topic, would you say misogyny is a more pressing issue because it involves half the population whereas transphobia involves fewer people? I'm certain the census for trans folk is inaccurate because of being in the closet and such, but still. definitely not as much as half the population

        • now | pl
i not really pointing out the amount of population , because of course there are going to be more females in the world then trans people of any type ,, im just saying that trans people generally face more discrimination then females .
