Is it normal to be a dandy?
I've known, through my research in the history of fashion, many dandies. Dandies are men who dress stylish and fashionable & elegant, and they take great care in their physical appearance. So I decided to be a dandy, because the British were dandies in the Regency period. I'm not sure if a large group are dandies but it seems that way, everywhere in Adelaide I go I'm seeing beaus, dandies, and posh people (and a lot of average people too). Dandies care about the quality of their clothes and accessories, although some dandies cheat with low price clothing. I'm considering getting a military parka, cufflinks, bracelets, to enhance the appearance of my dandy clothes. Can you believe it?: dandies wear make-up!! They're blokes, and the make-up stops red on the face and dark undereyes, I'm wearing make-up right now, and it's not because I'm gay (I'm straight), I secretly wear make-up to improve on the appearance of my rugged skin, nobody even notices I'm wearing make-up. So the thing is dandies wear cashmere scarves (I've got one and am getting another one in the mail), cufflinks, accessories (like a tie and a hat), but I'm only being a dandy on a budget, I have a black waistcoat (not a vest) and it goes well with my navy Marc Darcy dinner suit (it's called that, I know it's just a jacket, a classy jacket), the cufflinks will go well with my Harris Tweed jacket, I spend up to 3 hours getting dressed in front of the mirror, I've been insulted so since when have beards worsened your appearance? Men with beards are beautiful! The trick is to trim your beard, not cut it short, but cut the rough edges to make the beard look more attractive. So as much as my budget permits: two cashmere scarves, one pair of cufflinks, one waistcoat, a couple of vests, and corduroy trousers. Many people are happy how handsome I look, and that makes my day, is that normal?
