Far left and the far right can go to hell. When I say far right I mean the real far right because it seems anyone the media doesnt like is lumped into the far right.

I think there is a rise in conservativism that's happening right now, because the left has gone too far left. I think there is a pendulum swing that is always happening in society. If things swing too far one way the pendulum will eventually swing the other way a bit more so to compensate.

a lot of today's conservatives are just former lefties who couldn't handle the criticism of their side's extremist views anymore. they barely have any actual conservative values but associate with it by being edgelords.

It's less of a rise in conservatives as it is a rise in extremists. Moderate views are getting rarer by the day, and it's undoubtedly harmful to society.

Absolutely. Polarization paralyzes democracies. Internet search engines are accelerating this destruction of moderate views. By matching search results to a history of your click selections, they only suggest articles that you want to hear. You become less tolerant to opposing arguments.

What I really can't stand are those kooks who are too much into the conspiracy theories.

Albert Einstein said it is best to make things as simple as possible, but no simpler. Conspiracy theories are impossibly simple, as are the small dysfunctional minds that believe in them.

I love the direction the USA is going in right now. The economy is great and China is in recession. Hopefully the dream comes true and manufacturing comes back to America again and we become self sufficient and not dependent on China. Steel and coal have already came back.

Well said! Someone being objective about the current state of the US! Doesn't seem to happen very often!

Not just steel and coal. Smart technology! Let's make the US the first Mega Superpower!

The future looks good for now. My fear is even if manufacturing comes back and wages shoot up theres still only 5 more years of this administration and then the directiom could change back towards globalism.

politics are a hell fire, man. personally i disapprove of both present day liberals and conservatives-- leftists are far too idealistic and their ideas are incompatible with the world we live in now, which is complex and a mess of corruption, inflation, and the like. conservatism strikes me as a little stupid because i think the only way for things to improve is to keep going forwards, not backwards. lgbt rights, gun control, and the legalisation of abortion are all things we NEED in today's world. a lot of people aren't straight nor cisgender now, a lot of people are getting shot, and a lot of women are in need of abortions. so i guess i'm somewhere the in the middle, maybe leaning a centimeter towards the left, but not by much.

nevertheless, i understand why a person would identify as a conservative, though i'm not fond of those who try to force their social/economic/political ideas on me when i make it clear i'm not willing to listen.

I'm a middle of the road moderate who used to lean towards the left. But they left me standing and went full throttle wack-job.
