I have used heroin a couple of times myself. I did not really enjoy the experience as much as other drugs (cocaine, xtc) because of the numbing effect.
But I do agree that it doesn't seem as addictive as the media and so-called portray it to be. I do feel that it is a relatively harmful drug, considering that (as opposed to coke xtc or even mdma, which only stimulates and maintains already present endorphines) it triggers the brain into producing endorphines which otherwise would not be available, which IMO after a while could make it a problem to produce these endorphines without the use of heroin.
However, i think that if you are able to maintain your usuage during recreational or partying activities, which would lead to your brain associate it with this instead of a daily routine, it could work out.
