There's nothing wrong with you. And a person should never just do something just for the sake of being able to say they did it.
I think you're right about making a connection. Sex should be something thats shared with someone you have grown a bond with, and someone you connect with on a more deeper level. Someone you 'love'. Make it a memorable experience. Wait for the right person to come along. And just because most people these days seem to lose it at like; 15, doesn't make it right. There shouldn't be any rush. Losing your virginity isn't the same as losing a pair of socks.
