  • Go to your county's Social Services office or website to look into programs that can help you. You can get Food Stamps and other such things even being a single person, you don't have to have kids to qualify. They can also help you to find trade schools or job opportunities. As the other poster said, you can go to Job Corps too, up to age 24, there you learn a trade ranging from culinary arts to welding or plumbing and so on, many choices...and they provide living arrangements, food and a monthly stipend.
