Times are a lot different. I moved out at 22 after college, got a job with good pay and bennies right away. Gas was $.45 and rent was $145 for an apt. at the beach. And I always had money in my pocket. It's much harder to get established today.
How long ago was this? Right now everywhere I find is 800$ for a cheap one bedroom and for the more expensive places 1000-3000$ for monthly rent and beaches are always more expensive since beaches are nice to live on. Also right now gas is 3.45$ so what era are you from?
Getting established wont happen if you dont try. If you have a job and a way to establish yourself why not try?
