Perhaps you could have the best of both worlds. A job in a toy store, or designing toys and games for kids, professionally, would allow you to enjoy your work, but give you the where with all to live your life as a productive adult.
As for normal, or abnormal, I think there are a very few truly "normal" people in the world, and they are probably pretty boring folks.
