Sounds normal to me. You sound like someone who wants to stay away because it's illegal and because of how your dad was as a result of it. Just hold out another year til your 21 then enjoy it if you want, or don't if you don't want to still. Just because 21 is the legal drinking age doesn't mean you have an obligation to drink on your 21st or even ever.
