If you agree with the morals for yourself, and not because a book tells you to, then it's ok. Otherwise, you're no better than someone who believes in a God for who there is no proof.
Just be cautious with those sorts of things. Often, they're so general they they can apply to anyone, and because we want to believe, we give a little leeway here and there to make them applicable.
There was a study done awhile back where students were asked to complete a personality questionnaire. They were then given a complete personality profile back. The trick was, every student got the same profile. They all believed it was nearly 100% accurate. It was actually the profile of a well known serial killer.
Point being, take it all with a grain of salt, and do what's right for you on your own accord, not because a book tells you to.
