Is it normal to avoid stories on is it normal with too many comments?

Sometimes I avoid commenting on stories with a lot of comments...It just seems like everyone's got it covered so why bother unless you're emotionally invested in the story/poll.

I tend to avoid the story only if there's a billion conversations going on that have nothing to do with the topic at hand.

The funniest thing was that i never use the "best of" type categories, when i did i was shocked at how many comments there were under the "vulgar" posts. Everyone here pretends to be soooo mature but wow...just wow, some of the shit.

Sometimes but no. If I want to leave my worthless bits behind I damn well will. Months old even, don't give a crap.

It usually takes a lot more than 10 comments to put me off, but I'm the same. Which is why, probably to the annoyance of the other IIN gold members, I tend to be one of the first people to comment on most of the unmoderated posts:P

Because of this, when I pop onto IIN I usually end up going straight to the unmoderated section, and therefore I rarely comment on posts once they hit the home page (which probably seems obvious, since by the time they've been moderated, I've left my banananess all over them:P).

I don't mind anymore. I used to do that as well, but like splashy said, if you read the story you can always read the comments and learn something new.
