Is it normal to associate doom with midi?

It's because whenever I hear that weird sounding horn in the MIDI sound of the game, I instantly associate Doom with MIDI for some reason.

For those who don't know or don't have a clue what MIDI is, MIDI is an audio file which stands for Music Instrument Digital Interface, the file plays the sequence inside the audio file. Each MIDI has channels ( selecting the MIDI channel does not really matter ).
